Big Town and High Town - MES-ENGLISH

Hi, teachers!,

We are all coming back soon!!! I suppose you are familiar with MES-ENGLISH http://www.mes-english.com/, I love this web, it's fantastic!!!

You can find flashcards, resources, worksheets, etc. Because of that, I recommend you to look at this and use one of the following games with your students Big Town or High Town, you can read the instructions and print the cards, like the photos.

The games I recommend in this post will help your students speak English, make up questions, etc. There are many possibilities.

Learning English is always fun!:)

EngLiSH SoNgS foR ChiLDreN

Hi, there!,

Some days ago, my cousin asked me If I knew some English songs for Children, because she had a lovely daughter Ann (4), who loved singing, she already knew some since she is at school, but she wanted to know if there were some free songs ready to be downloaded. So, after surfing for a while, I found this web:

http://www.bebesymas.com/infancia/6-videos-y-letras-de-canciones-en-ingles-para-ninos

Although the web is Spanish, all the songs and lyrics are in English. Now, you can watch the videos, read lyrics and if you're a teacher, you can use these resources in class.

Now, my little cousin is pleased and she doesn't stop singing and learning English! ;)

MIME - a fun game to learn English

Hi, TEACHERS!,

Some years ago, I made up this oral game "MIME" to play at the end of the lessons at school , for my adult beginners, ... and they always have fun and learn so much!!! It's very simple and effective for English students.

As you can see in the photo, you have to cut some pieces of cardboard into small pieces.

Then, you as a teacher, choose one semantic field to practise, for example "SportS" or "ProfessionS or JobS". After that, write down one sport or job on one of the sides, and on the other one, you just write "MIME", the name of the game.

Later, ask one of your students to pick up one card. He /she has to mime, he / she can't speak anything, maybe some noises. The other classmates have to raise their hands when they know the answer. Then, the student has to write down the word on the board or spell this for the rest of the students. (Everybody is going to laugh and have a good time, SURE!)

After that, you can pronounce and repeat all the words appeared.

I strongly recommend you to play MIME in class, LeaRNinG EnGLisH iS AlWayS FUN!!! ;)

(I'd be pleased if you told me your experience with this oral game).

The Saturdays sing "HIGHER"

Hi, there!,

I hope you'll like this song as much as me! They are awesome, I can't start a summer day without listening to it! The Saturdays is an Anglo-Irish group of five girls: Una Healy, Mollie King, Frankie Sanford, Rochelle Wiseman and Vanessa White. The first time I saw them they reminded me of The Spice Girls.

Even more, they say that people look up them as their icnons, because of that, they have created their own line of clothes, e
specially T-shirts with some slogans or parts of the most famous lyrics such as "I'm Notorious" or "Whatcha Doing Saturday Girls?". This band was formed in 2007, since then, they have released two albums. Now, listen and enjoy this song!!! :)
