MOBILE LANGUAGE among teenagers

Hi, Guys!,

Have you ever talked to a foreign boy / girl using your PC or laptop? What kind of language do you usually do? How often do you write the whole words, i.e. "please" instead of "pliz"?
As you well know, all of us use a simplified language when we usually communicate by emails, phone messages. This new trend is taking place in every country, especially among teenagers.
But why? Maybe because we want to save space and time, and even we want to sound cooler. Nevertheless, we have to bear in mind that this new language has some positive and negative aspects.
On the one hand, we can chat faster, we can tell more things in a few words, or just save some money.
On the other hand, there could be misunderstandings in these brief texts. Besides, teenagers can't write in a formal way because they are used to writing in a colloquial way. What else?
Now, I'm going to CHALLENGE you. I'm going to write some words and messages using this trendy mobile language, CAN YOU REWRITE THEM IN PROPER ENGLISH?
1. U = you
2. PPL = people
3. WKND = weekend
4. ITS 4U = It's for you
5. U R GR8! = you are great!
6. i snd u dis = I send you this
7. @] = rose
8. dat = that
9. 1ly = only
10. I hp Ull fnd dis blo intrztn, AV A NCE DY, XO =
I hope you'll find this blog interesting, HAVE A NICE DAY, X= kiss, O= hug

MOTHER'S DAY, 1st Sunday of May in Spain whereas 2nd Sunday in USA

Hi, there!,

Mother's Day is a very special holiday! I know that this significant day is celebrated the second Sunday of May in USA, Australia, and the fourth Sunday of March in UK. Nevertheless, I am willing to devote one entry to mothers, especially my mom. Because of that, I've just chosen the following quotes about mother. I completely agree with them...

"All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother."

-- Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)

"My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her."
-- George Washington (1732-1799)

"The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness."
-- Honore' de Balzac

"To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power."
-- Maya Angelou

"All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That's his."
-- Oscar Wilde

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. " Washington Irving

PS. To my MOM, I love you as you are!
You, as in the Stepmom film, are always there, you make me laugh, you are my best shelter, you are my favourite painter!!! ;)

FULL HOUSE

Hi, Guys!,

Have you ever watched FULL HOUSE? It was a well-known American sitcom broadcasted from 1987 until 1995. When I was younger, all my cousins and I loved watching it!

Danny Tanner is a widow and has three daughters: DJ, Stephanie and Michelle. So he asked his friend Joey and his brother in law Jessi to come and live with him and his three daughters in San Francisco.Later, DJ's friend Kimmy appears as well as Jessi's girlfriend, Rebecca.

As I said before, my family and I had a very good time watching this comedy, there were many significant values, LOVE, BEING ALWAYS TOGETHER, COMMUNICATION to solve every argument, ... it was really tender when Jessi talked to his little nephew Michelle.

Now, why don't we watch this episode? Steve Urkel appears and imitates Jessi's accent. It's deeply enjoyable!!!
