Present Continous used for:

2. Temporary activity or situation (which may not be happening now).
3. Arrangements you've made for the future.
4. With "always" to complain or express irritation about sth or someone.

Stonehenge... Magic Circles

Stonehenge is the best known and probably the most remarkable of prehistoric remains in the UK. It has stood on Salisbury Plain for about 4,000 years. There have been many different theories about its original use.

One theory is that it was a place from where stars and planets could be observed. It was discovered that the positions of some of the sotnes related to the movements of the sun and moon, so that the stones could be used as a calendar to predict such things as eclipses.

Moreover, some people thought that Stonehenge was a Druid temple. The Druids were a Celtic religious group who were suppressed in Great Britain soon after the Roman Conquest. Some people believe that they were a group of priests, whereas others regard them as medicine-men. But this theory was rejected because the Stonehenge had existed 1,000 years before the arrival of Druids; although Druids may use it as a temple. Even today, there is a group of people called the "Most Ancient Order of Druids" who perform mystic rites at dawn on Midsummer's Day (24th June).

Another interesting theory is that the great stone circle was used to store terrestrial energy, which was generated across the country.

Eventually, there is something true: the stones came from South Wales and North Wiltshire, according to the geologists.

FRIENDS

I love the American soap-opera "Friends". I love all the characters, especially Monica. My brother and I used to watch this TV serie every day. Even more, we ended up memorising the whole dialogues. We have spent great time with these "friends" from New York. Because of that, I'd like to share with you all the best moments of "FRIENDS", let's laugh for a while...

Cooking...BROWNIES !!! mnmnmn....

On special occasions, I always make brownies for my friends, and they always end up asking me the recipe! They are delicious! Do you dare to make a brownie?
The brownies recipe is easy and difficult because you have to keep the brownie crisp, but not dry. Do not mind opening the oven door several times.
Ah, did you know the brownie was created accidentally by an American chef who forgot the yeast?

Ingridients:
* Butter: 150 grams
* Chocolate black: 90 grams
* Sugar: 300 grams
* Flour: 150 grams
* Vanilla extractand Baking powder: 1 and 1 / 2 teaspoons
* Chopped nuts: 150 grams
* 3 eggs

(You may spend 35 min.)

1. Place the chocolate and butter in a pan and heat over low heat until melted. Stir with a spoon.
2. When the chocolate and butter are melted, depart from the heat.
3. Now, add flour and yeast, sugar, vanilla and nuts.
4. Stir everything and add 3 eggs.
5. Mix all the ingredients well and then, pour into a mold previously greased with butter.
6. Put it into a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes, until it is slightly crunchy on the surface and tender on the inside.
7. When the dough is already cooked, wait until this is cool and remove the mold.
8. Cut in squares.
9. Sprinkle some flour over the brownie
10. Enjoy your meal! (= Bon Appetite)

Terrorists hijack four jetliners and crash them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field. The twin towers and 7 World Trade Center collapsed.

Consequences:

The people who ran down to the site to volunteer, as well as workers and emergency responders, are continuing to suffer from ailments that almost surely were caused by their long exposure to toxic air at the site.

In March 28th, 2006, workers near the World Trade Center site discovered more bone fragments and human remains. In September, hundreds more fragments are found on the roof of the former Deutsche Bank building. (On the right side of the picture below).

Construction workers installed the first steel column for the Sept. 11 memorial at ground zero. The 7,700-pound column was erected by the footprint of the World Trade Center's north tower. The "Reflecting Absence" memorial will set two giant pools over the twin towers' footprints.

But a city-state agency says it may not be completed until five years later, and at the moment there is just one other tower being built on the site, Tower Four.

The World Trade Centre site is currently being rebuilt with six new skyscrapers, a memorial to the casualties of the attacks, a modern transportation system, and cultural and commercial spaces. City planners are reportedly eyeing to bring back a strong and vibrant community in Lower Manhattan.

Freedom Tower and mast on the southwest of the site are expected to reach an astounding 1776 feet into the sky.

As things stand now, the memorial to the victims of the terrorist attack is scheduled to open in 2011.

The terrorists lost. They're still there; the city of New York endures.

The Beatles

The Beatles, this rock English band is coming today!, 9th September 2009, as a playable video game console. From my point of view, it is going to be highly revolutionary, because instead of picking up a real guitar and playing it, you can learn and play this instrument using this video game. It is actually a whole different experience, don't you think so? Even more, everybody could play and sing on the best fictitious stages; and also, these players could get more points if they did so well. Any positive effect? Yes, sure! Many people, especially teenagers are going to discover one the best rock band. Now, I would like to focus on some brief historical aspects of this well-known group.The story of the Beatles, essentially begins with the meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, on 6th July, 1957. Shortly after they met, Paul was asked to join John's skiffle group, the Quarry Men.The two of them played their first gig together on 18th October , 1957. In Februrary, the next year, George Harrison, a schoolmate of McCartney's, offically joined the band.

In August of 1960, the band, simply called The Beatles would play their first gigs at the Cavern Club. In 1961, Stuart Stucliffe, bass player, left the band to marry. So, Paul took over as bass player.

The Beatles recorded all these albums: 1. Please Please Me, 1963 2. With the Beatles, 1963. 3. A hard day's Night, 1964. 4. Beatles forSales, 1964. 5. Help!, 1965. 6. Rubber Soul, 1965. 7. Revolver, 1966. 8. Sqt. Pepper's Lovely Hearts Club band, 1967. 9. The Beatles (White Album), 1968. 10. Yllow Submarine, 1969. 11. Abbey Road, 1969. 12. Let It Be, 1970.

In October, 1969, the final Bealtes album was released. Abbey Road was recorded in the same fashion as Sgt. Pepper's. Contiuous. But friendliness was gone. The Beatles were finished. They had done everything that a band could do and more. They would break up by the end of 1970.
