RePoRtinG VerBS (Reported Speech)

Hi, Guys!!!,

Have you ever heard about RePoRtinG VerBS? Yes, sure! (In class) ;)

These forms are used to report what others have said, but these verbs can more accurately describe what somebody has said. Depending on the verb chosen to rephrase a sentence, you need to use a different structure, in other words, if you use "ADMIT", you should take into account that this verb can be followed by a Gerund or a THAT Clause.

For example: "I acted inappropriately", he told the police.
He admitted that he had acted inappropriately OR He admitted acting inappropriately.

Therefore, as you can imagine, you must study these reporting verbs and practise a lot. So, if you want to start practising, click here:

WHOSE, MaKinG QueStioNs??

Hi, Guys!!!,

When I was correcting your paper exams, I realised you are still confused with WHOSE at questions. Let's see that again ...

WHOSE indicates POSSESSION, and like WHICH or WHAT can be used with or without a Noun as a question word. Now, let's focus on the following questions and answers, all of them are correct, possible in English, though they are slightly different.

1. Whose are these pencils?(correct)
These pencils are mine; They are mine; These are my pencils, These are Helen's.(possible answers)

2. Whose pencils are these? (correct)

3. Whose are these? (correct)

Now, I hope to clear it up for you!!! ;)
