So, in 1960s, she appeared in several musical productions. In 1970s, she began appearing in films. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"

Hi, Guys!,

I'm sure you're very familiar with this beatiful song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". There are many versions, indeed, but do you know when was the first time it was sung?

In 1939, a long time ago, one of the best film was released "The Wizard of Oz" and Judy Garland as Dorothy Gale sang this theme song. Even more, the actress was awarded with a special Oscar in 1940 due to her remarkable performance.

Now, would you like to watch the orignal singer and then, a newer version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"?

Downton Abbey

Hi, there!,

Downton Abbey is a British TV drama, truly famous in UK and USA, and now in Spain too. It is mainly written by Julian Fellowes. The TV serie is set in a realistic Edwardian country house, two years before the beginning of the Great War. The drama begins with the shipwreck of the Titanic.

From the very beginning, you as spectator can feel involved and engaged, since there are several exciting topics such as the inheritan
ce problem, rebellious servants vs. loyal servants; society should be free to mix and chat everyone, no matter your class; convinient loveless marriage?; a female servant who wants to be a secretary, she wants to change her status; and so on. I strongly recommend you to watch DOWNTON ABBEY, an undoubtful masterpiece.

Are you fan of Harry Potter and friends' adventures?

I think Harry Potter has become a wellknown literary phenomenon, since many children and teenagers are hooked to their stories, they enjoy reading all his books, there is a great mixture of magical universe with certain rules, unexpected elements, magicians, apprentices, battles, castles, witches, monsters, ...

J. K. Rowling is its writer. Her first book was published in 1997 Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and ten years later, she wrote Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I hope you'll enjoy reading the last book as well as watching some scenes of the film.

Audrey Hepburn

Hi, there!,

Since I love this extraordinary actress so much, I've just decided to write about her, about AUDREY HEPBURN.

Undoubtedly, Audrey Hepburn is a significant icon of HOLLYWOOD, FASHION and HUMANITARISM.

In 1935, when her parents got divorce, she was living in Netherlands with her mother. When the German invasion and occupation of World War II, she changed her name because an "English-sounding" name was considered dangerous. From that moments onwards, she suffered from malnutrition and developed constant health problems.

After the war, Audrey and her mother moved to London, where she studied ballet. She worked as a model, and in 1951, began acting in films, mostly in minor or supporting roles as Audrey Hepburn. She got into acting mainly to make money.

After that, Audrey was offered a starring role opposite Gregory Peck in the Hollywood motion picture, Roman Holiday. For her performance, she won the 1953 Academy Award for Best Actress. She also starred: Breakfast at Tiffany's, My fair Lady, How to Steal a Million and Robin and Marian. Audrey's last film role, a cameo appearance, was of an angel in Steven Spielberg's Always, filmed in 1988.

Audrey Hepburn, maybe due to her difficult poor childhood, she became a great ambassador of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
At last, but no least, let's watch and listen these videos taken from two famous films:
BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S and ROMAN HOLIDAY.

PS. To my brother who is always talking about her films, he looks up Audrey Hepburn so much.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in Seville - "KNIGHT and DAY"

Hi, Guys!,

Do you know that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz came to Seville yesterday? It was a kind of pre-premiere, since some scenes of the movie "Knight and Day" were filmed here, in Seville. Last December, these film stars spent some days in our town, and we could see them next to our gothic cathedral. As a matter of fact, yesterday, Tom and Cameron relieved some of these moments in the town centre, so Tom leaded the chase cars on a Ducati. After that, Tom hugged his fans, they could take some photos, it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Now, you can see this funny interview as well as some great scenes!

I hope you'll enjoy it and know my town!

"Alice Underground" sung by Avril Lavigne

Hi, there!,

I hope you'll like this beautiful song, this is the main single of the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack. You can read and sing its lyrics ... have a nice weekend!

Besides, I'd like to tell you there is a fantastic sculpture of Alice in Wonderland in Central Park, New York city. All children are invited to cimb and explore it. Alice is sitting on a big mushroom and sorrounded by the Mad Hatter , the March Hare, the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit, Alice’s Cat Dinah and, of course, the bashful Dormouse.

Lewis Carrol, who was the writer of Alice in Wonderland, dedicated this sculpture to his beloved wife. You can read it in this picture: "Alice in Wonderland, in memory of my wife Margarita Delacorte who loved all children".
